She was the first African American Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 1989. Comprehensive Medical Associates PLLC is a multi-specialty practice specializing in cardiology and electrophysiology, the treatment of irregular heart rhythms known as arrhythmias. Our practice is in-office, hospital-based and virtual (telemedicine). We have been in business since 2004.
The practice's principal, Leigh Ann Hutchinson, MD (Harvard College/Yale Medical School), has been a practicing, board-certified, physician since 1996. Following medical school, Dr. Hutchinson trained in New York City at Bellevue/New York University Hospital (internal medicine and cardiology), St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital (electrophysiology) and Montefiore Hospital (pacemakers).
Dr. Hutchinson is keenly aware of the health care disparities that exist with respect to people of color, particularly women.
