LaKesha B. Shahid graduated from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 2005 after obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in English from University of Alabama-Birmingham in 1999. In law school, LaKesha was a member of Black Law Students Association and Women’s Law Association. Additionally, LaKesha received the Best Paper Awards for Professional Responsibility and Current Topics in Criminal Law. LaKesha practices primarily in the areas of personal injury, employment discrimination, family law and estate planning. LaKesha has had the opportunity o serve as Temporary Judge overseeing involuntary commitment hearings. LaKesha is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, American Bar Association, National Bar Association. LaKesha is also a member of the Capital City Bar Association where she serves in the capacity of Recording Secretary and President and Alabama Lawyers Associations where she served as Treasurer.
LaKesha is also involved through social and community activities, such as serving as the National Legal Advisor for the National Order of Eastern Star, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and The Links, Incorporated. LaKesha specializes in personal injury, juvenile criminal defense, social security, domestic relations (custody/divorce), estate planning and general civil law.
