DiVine Art Parties is a mobile art party business that provides art activities for both children and adults. On top of the fun that comes with creating art, you get to make memories, share ideas and joy with others. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic DAP provides virtual classes and mailing art materials. Our mission to create a positive impact on the community through art. We seek to inspire all members of the community to freely express themselves as well as follow their creative passions and dreams.

Visual Arts is the passion of the owner and founder, Rhonda L. Holmes, M.A - a certified art teacher with more than 14 years of K-College teaching experience. As a member of the American Art Therapy Association and a Social Art-working consultant, Rhonda is a skilled art instructor who is sensitive to how art can improve the way we experience life. Her skills are also demonstrated as she models each step of the artistic process during every art party. E&S Gallery, Inc. (E&S) was established in Louisville, KY in 1989 by Connecting Link Walter Shannon. Today, E&S is operated by Shannon and wife, Link Cathy. Over the course of 30 years, E&S grew from a 2,500 square foot strip mall location, to it’s current location - an 11,000+ square foot gallery, custom framing and art publishing company.

E&S is an award winning gallery with a reputation of providing clients with exquisite, award winning custom framing and collectible artwork. Since 2015, E&S has been named “Best Gallery in Kentucky” and one of the “Top 25 Galleries in The U.S.” by American Art Awards. Recognized for professional national exhibitions, E&S has been the official gallery of the Kentucky Derby Grand Gala, Tom Joyner Foundation’s Fantastic Voyage, and The Capital Jazz Super Cruise. E&S is also a long time exhibitor with African American female organizations including Odyssey Network Women’s Conference, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and The Links, Incorporated.

E&S Gallery is located at 108 S. 10th Street, on 10th Street between Market and Main Streets, in downtown Louisville. The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday 10a to 6p, Saturday 10a to 4p, (EST) and is closed Sunday, Monday and all major holidays. All major credit cards are welcome. My artwork reflects images of African-American life and culture using colorful textiles as a medium. Each one-of-a-kind fabric collage is created using a combination of quilting techniques, as well as embellishments that enhance the overall image. The hand-stitched backgrounds are a tribute to the generations of women quilt makers in my family who came before me. I use the images of my original artwork on notecards, open stock prints, signed limited edition prints and other products.

Although I loved to draw and paint as a child, I did not grow up in an environment where that type of creativity was nurtured. I had very little exposure to visual art and few resources for exploring my early interest in the subject. So I chose to focus my energies on academic pursuits where I got lots of support and positive reinforcement. This path led me to get a Harvard M.B.A. and a successful career as a corporate marketing executive for over 25 years. My "Second Act" was as a non-profit CEO, where I spent 8 years leading one of the largest Girl Scout Councils in the United States before retiring in October 2015.

During my working years, I channeled my creative energies into hobbies like sewing, interior design, photography, cake decorating and scrapbooking. I also became an avid collector of African-American art, with a strong appreciation for images that reflect positive aspects of our life and culture. With the luxury of time afforded by retirement, I began looking for a new outlet for my creativity. For the first time in my life, I decided to try my hand at making art of my own.

Since I have always loved working with fabrics, it was fairly easy to decide that was the medium I wanted to create in. It was a lot harder to figure out how to translate the designs in my head into fabric images. With practice, I began to find my artistic voice and produce work that I wanted to share with others. I have finally arrived at a place where I am ready for my "Third Act" as an artist. The proud mother of an HBCU graduate, I am excited about using my artwork as a platform to raise funds to support these important educational institutions. I invite you to join me on this journey!
